Queen’s Award for Enterprise

Woodford Engineering Consultancy is one of only 200 organisations nationally to be recognised with a prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise, Britain’s most coveted commercial prize. Announced today (Tuesday 23rd April), Woodford Engineering Consultancy has been recognised for its excellence in international trade.

Commercial Director David Bradshaw said “We are honoured to receive this most prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise. It is testament to the value of the skills and expertise of our engineering staff. We are proud to be a part of the UK’s continuing capability in high-value design: a capability which is in demand globally. Now in its 53rd year, the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious business awards in the country, with winning businesses able to use the esteemed Queen’s Awards emblem for the next five years.

Woodford Engineering Consultancy will celebrate its award during a royal reception for Queen’s Awards winners in the summer.

Cyber Essentials Accreditation

WEC is pleased to announce that we are now accredited to the Cyber Essentials scheme. Cyber Essentials is a Government-backed, industry-supported scheme to help organisations protect themselves against common online threats and demonstrate commitment to cyber security.

JOSCAR Accreditation Renewal

WEC is pleased to announce that following a re-accreditation process to the latest requirements, we continue with full accreditation to the Joint Supply Chain Accreditation Register (JOSCAR).

JOSCAR is the accreditation system for the aerospace, defence, security and space sectors, allowing suppliers to demonstrate that they are “fit for business”. The system was initiated by ADS and includes a growing number of prime contractors as registered buyers. The accreditation process includes verification of company capability, quality assurance, information security, business continuity, insurance, financial health and ethical operations.

Airbus Selects WEC as Preferred Supplier

Following a competitive supplier selection process, Airbus has again selected WEC, acting through our tier-1 supplier Ferchau Engineering GmbH, as preferred supplier of systems engineering services in the Fuel and Inerting Systems domain of Airbus in the UK and Spain, covering development of all Airbus civil aircraft types as well as systems and equipment Research and Technology development.

This three year contract will help to sustain a minimum of 50 high-value professional engineering jobs at our Manchester and Bristol offices.
