The design and development of ‘Systems’ is our lifeblood. We enable our clients to design new, as well as develop existing, products, typically to provide increased functionality, improve reliability, or enhance safety.
Working alongside our clients, and informed by their needs, we help to develop the top-level project requirements which inform the “what to do” while our systems engineering approach and associated processes tell us “how to do it”.
The way we undertake systems design and development is derived from the Validation & Verification (V&V) model, first brought to prominence by Hughes Aircraft, circa 1982. The same model continues to underpin Aerospace industry processes today via standards such as SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) 4754 and can be applied to simple as well as complex system development programmes.
System design and development necessitates whole-platform experience and demands a broad and deep understanding of all facets of design, performance and operation, spanning multiple engineering disciplines. Whether WEC resource is embedded within client teams or working from our offices, our engineers are encouraged to draw upon the skills and support of their longstanding, highly experienced colleagues. Clients therefore benefit from the expertise of individuals and the experience of the WEC team.
With decades of OEM experience directly interfacing with end users, certification bodies and equipment suppliers, systems design and development is a skill in which WEC engineers excel. We pride ourselves in not only delivering the job in hand, but also foreseeing opportunities and solutions which will positively benefit the wider project aims of the client.
We have applied this consultative model for many years, successfully designing and developing solutions giving our clients that competitive edge.
